Well, it is the BS Railroad... :-D

The CP Huntington "steam outline" produced by Chance Rides is a very common park train configuration. They are usually 24" gauge, but it has also been offered in 18" gauge (I think) which is used by StoryLand. I believe that StoryLand had something other than a CP Huntington fle...

BWParker: Thanks....I guess it will become a commuter rail. Home Depot closed the warehouse, then?

How did Connecticut's railroad museums fare during 2020? I read in Trains that a few railroad museums closed permanently because of Co-Vid 19. I hope nothing happened toany museums there. I did see where a few volunteers at the Branford Trolley Museum died of the virus. Prayers to those families and...

Did anyone see the Railfan & Railroad April 2021 issue? There's an article on the Griffin Branch. I wish CNEZ will get more business...They put new rails in, but why waste it on a dead branch.

I have to get used to this place. The pop-ups are driving me nuts. (Google Chrome?) I have been away for a long time but mind a general question ? New York and New England Railroad. Naturally this all became the 'New Haven'. Does anybody know of any books published or articles published anywhere ? ...

Whether they change the way taxes are collected to fund the Highway Trust Fund or not, let’s keep it simple with just a single tax. If they want to tax by milage, then eliminate Federal fuel taxes altogether. They should not be able to double dip. The Biden Administration eliminating a tax? You're ...

I'd put my money on Biden being gone by 2023, which won't leave a lot of opportunity to be remembered as a transportation friendly administration. Gateway benefits NY and NJ more than anything. Few people outside a 100 mile radius of NYC will not care about whether it happens or not. Gone how? Be v...

For what reason is he going to be Sec of Transportation? Biden should've got someone from either the airline or Railroad industry. Not being political, but really, what is his qualifications?

I hope another rail served business will move into the HD warehouse. It'll be a great loss of business for Central New England. Griffin doesn't have any business except HD. The Armory has just the Fertilizer plant, if I'm not mistaken.

I thought HD was expanding to the new site and not closing the Bloomfield center. AJ needs to get a new customer for the Griffins branch...

I wonder if CSX will sell off a few branches like the Highland branch in Connecticut? I wonder if they do, I wonder if G&W would buy it. I'd love to see CNEZ buy the highland branch, since I think AJ would promote business on the line, especially the line south of Waterbury...

On May 1st 1971 I was 13 years old at the start of Amtrak. My only train ride prior to Amtrak was a round trip between Washington and Baltimore on the B&O to visit the B&O Museum. Today that trip can still be made on MARC. Other than that all my train riding in the US and Canada occurred du...

OK, let's be straight up, this topic is directed more towards our "elder Statesmen" around here, now that the Amtrak-era is closing in on fifty years. In short, anyone short of "seventysomething" cannot be expected to "have known it when". What are the routes that you ...
