2--because of the crowded layout, the practical capacity of the IVs is less than the actual capacity. On crowded peak hour trains you will inevitably see some passengers standing instead of taking a middle seat or sitting in a facing pair. Thus the actual capacity difference is less than the nomina...

Re: Train 5711 Making unscheduled stops-North Hills and Orel

What do they do with the equipment from this train when it gets to Trenton? I'm not sure what 5711's consist becomes after it finishes its run at Trenton, but I do believe that it originates in Doylestown as the rear cars (I think it's 5, but not positive) of the previous weekday's Train 6576. I ta...

So, as an example, train #3596 originates at Media or Elwyn, and goes to Doylestown. Is this correct (I'm assuming West Trenton is out of the mix since the train must go through center city)? Can you tell if it originated in either Media or Elwyn? Also, I know this train goes to Doylestown because I...

Its fascinating because I'm surprised it wasn't "If they make Amtrak the national RR THE WHOLE WORLD IS GONNA END!" as it is today. The over the top rhetoric today is just simply insanity. I'm glad Amtrak slipped by then without a notice because I for one love the service. We don't actual...

I have used a round trip ticket across multiple days. There is no way I know of for the conductors to know when the first trip was taken. I have also used tickets past their 180 day 'valid' window. At least there is a way to get back the penalty if you do follow the process you describe. I understan...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we, the public, already get a look at them in September 2008? I remember seeing one then and getting a flyer about how they will start using them in 2009. That being said, I wouldn't mind another close-up view.
