I can't believe no one has posted these photos of the first two pilot cars that surfaced about two weeks ago. They are pictured in China still. Four pilot cars are being built currently. https://i.imgur.com/g0aRSoH.png https://i.imgur.com/IIpf3Tt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/BlFs9wH.jpg There is article ...

I wonder if it would be possible if Bombardier made a single level version of the next upcoming MLV III ? It looks like it could be done. Just a random thought.

Has anyone seen the specs for the CRRC cars- What material is planned for the seating surfaces? Something easier to clean than the MFL cars, I hope? I would assume they're getting the same type of seats the SLVs and the refurbished Comets got. Yes, the CRRC cars will have the same outfitting seatin...

Toward the end of the strategic plan, West Trenton is mentioned but I'm not sure if that's a very key project in the next 10 years. While it would be great to have trains serving West Trenton, Hopewell, Belle Mead, and Hillsborough, many people living in those towns will probably prefer to drive ov...

SEPTA has options at the end of the NJT order. Per SEPTA's current proposed Capital Budget on Page 9: Current funding will not allow SEPTA to utilize an option it has on a New Jersey Transit procurement to begin the replacement of the Silverliner IV fleet nor pursue associated vehicle procurements ...

Recent articles says ApplePay will be rolled out sometime mid next year for fare payment ...all 4,000 + validators will be upgraded to support the feature. Change order for that was a bit over $4,000,000. It’s about time they will have this feature. Will definitely make it more accessible for payment.

From mcgrath618 in the Amtrak forum on https://www.railroad.net/viewtopic.php?f=46&p=1526592#p1526592 I have heard that SEPTA will be leasing some of the Montreal ALP45s for its Phoenixville return pilot. Is this for real? SEPTA doing that must be a pipe dream. Nothing is built to support such ...

If they allow people to tap with their credit cards or cell phones - as planned - then very few riders would be hit by the surcharge. The last I heard, they dropped the idea of treating other forms of e-payment as equivalent to the Key. I.e. anyone paying via those media will be charged cash-fare p...

SEPTA better jump to it with the mobile and debit/credit payment feature....they always trying to "Recover the fare ratio that is LOST" , you would think they would have it up and running quickly since most people these days have smartphones with payment capabilities. I'm sure MTA NY will ...

Most states have a severance tax right ? If i don't remember correctly who opposed the tolling of Interstate 80 ? was it the state or the federal gov't or something like that ? Either way something is going to have to be done in order for the state to pay fund its transportation systems and network....

There seems to be quite a bit of misinformation, or more likely combination of information going on here. The CRRC cars are NOT MU cars, they will not be Silverliners. They are push-pull coaches, the same way the Bombardier coaches are now. They will supplant those cars in additional express servic...

Just looked at the capital budget for 2020 and these vehicles are mentioned in the budget with the budget price that NJT has. There is also a rendering of what the MLV EMU will / might look like. Slightly different. Page 63. I couldn't post the image. http://septa.org/strategic-plan/reports/fy-2020...
