I passed through Rockland on 6/24/14. The 489 was at the station on a train, apparently a charter for later in the week. It appears to be back in service.

It looks like FL-9 487 is next in line for the scrappers torch. Rudy, are you sure that the trucks of 3562 are being saved. On Friday afternoon one of them was being cut up and loaded onto a flat-bed truck next to a chunk of the 3562.

The M&E has started scrapping the M420 #3562 at Morristown. Beginning is a relative term since it has been a parts unit for some time. Should be all gone in a couple of weeks, so I am told.

Steve, What you saw was a C-430 that was formerly on the NYS&W. It has been in Lakeville for several years being overhauled. Other posts have indicated that it is on its way to Olean.
