Very cool!!!!!! Hope to see more of that!
Was in Gettysburg yesterday, and whilst there observed boxcars in town, and shiny rails on the tracks that were the "unfinished railroad," in the cut where there was considerable loss in July, 1865.....anyway, what railroad is that, what motive power does it have, is it a daily operation? ...
Excellent!!!!!! Though short-lived in it's branding, the locomotive livery and same on the plate C boxcars was great. Got to see some of the SBD's boxcars on the Long Island RR back in the '80s, spotted at the Garden City and Hicksville team yards, the PW wye team track in E. Farmingdale, and on the...
A scene often seen on the classic "Addams Family."
You'll probably get a quicker answer in one of the LIRR/NYA-related groups on Facebook, such as "Long Island Rail Freight," "The Unofficial Long Island Rail Road" or "LIRR Historic Photos." A lot of good pictures, and usually good information in those pages on FB.

Love the Eastport page. Have always found that and the LIRR freight and later NYA service there fascinating.
Love it, as always!!!
Is the NYA still serving Belmont with boxcars (they were usually BNSF years ago when I was passing by regularly on the Cross Island Pkwy.) of feed for the resident horses??? Thanks.
Anybody know what sort of work is going on at Northport station? Parts of the parking lot are closed off for LIRR (and/or contractor) vehicles, as well as building materials and equipment. Thanks.
Fascinating, as always.
Was in the Atlanta-area yesterday and went to lunch at the Bluetop on Peachtree Rd. in Chamblee. On the way there, I was pleasantly surprised to see yard trackage, an unguarded grade crossing for a spur serving a customer nearby, and a building with signage saying "Norfolk Southern Chamblee Ter...
