That was supposed to say Amfleets. Danger spell check
For (mostly I guess) commuter rail cars that have availability to board both low and high level platforms I presume that for highs the doors are trainlined including center doors (if there are in a car) and can be controlled from one conductor position For lows these days are doors also trainlined? ...
RandallW thanks for the explanation
Interesting that in the US some newer tunnels are lit almost as brightly as stations
Example on some videos of LIRR departing their Grand Central Terminal to queens
That’s what I was wondering
Why are most tunnels not lit
And why don’t engineers use headlights?
Rode Trenitalia quite a bit a few years ago
And also watch RFW videos from Italy
Why does it seem that (compared to at least the NY metro area) all the tunnels are incredibly dark and the trains seem to not use headlights?
So how many tracks run between Bridgeport and New Haven?
With increased SLE service are not four tracks needed in this area?
Wondering why portions of the Hudson and NH were reduced from four tracks in the past.
How does effect those lines in this day and age?
I understand that these are the open gangway cars being tested. But in a set of five. IIRC the TTC trains are open through all ten cars. Will MTA run two open five car sets? As separate halves or also connected? Or will they add mor trailers between the two cab cars to make a ten.car open train? Sen...

Various news outlet’s reporting a fatality on 1 train at 59 st. Apparently a dragging accident.
Condolences to the victim’s family and support to the crew (“second victims “)

Not the one I saw which I could not find.
But same idea with between track distances.
This train is westbound on track 3

Just saw a video on YouTube of an eastbound mu on track 3 mineola.
Why does it seem like there is more space between center track 1 and south track 2 as compared to between track 1 and north track 3?

What about Floral park? Or is that basically the same amount of crossovers as before even with the new layout?

Agree with head-end-view Mineola is gonna get crowded. And no matter how many and how loud announcements are made regarding a given train you can bet your bottom dollar there’s gonna be a lotta folks on wrong trains. Specially all those AirPodsers who won’t hear any announcements and who have their ...
Maybe I cannot fathom how the running patterns will turn out but seems like having OB trains in both directions come off the one track (“WB platform) and WB Hempstead train coming into FP on what looks like the “EB” track on the main line is gonna result in a lotta crossings of trains and to my uned...
