Other than a astronomical amount of dirt, paying big dividends to the railroads not much. It is refreshing to see just a bunch of old 1/2 hoppers cars filled with dirt siding everywhere one day and then there gone! Rumor has it some casino hot shot needs it to disappear. Funny some of these half cans...

Yes there is still much dirt in many old hopper cars thru Lowell. Not just sitting. It does lay up for a spell but not long. Why is someone hauling 1/2 full hoppers with dirt chunks and paying to move it by rail?

Going to be a long winter. I'm back. Two vantage points every day. Wigginvillet home and across from the Lowell Depot every day at work. Nothing really stands out that I have seen lately. Usual activity, maybe an uptick. Did see the Pine Tree caboose both in Lowell and Saint Mary's Ga. I'll keep in ...

Anyone know anything about the large amount of dirt in hoppers on the tracks here in Lowell? Been going on for a while now. Now it is as far as the eye can see.

Been a while but I'm back. I can only report what I see and hear along the Wigginville line and from the Lowell Depot when I am at work. Don't need no drama nor here say or controversy concerning any railroad employees or the lines they work for. I wish them all long and good careers. The MEC caboos...

Two Amtrak lococ's with 30 or so restored pullmans just passed Wigginville today headed east twords Tewskbury. Totally caught me off guard. No camera!! Conductors at parade rest in a couple of the cars. Glad I got to see what I did. What gives??

Well I'm glad to see we are all on the same page here. On Pam-Am's side anyway. Py you write well and thoughfully. Your warning about giving to much information in a timely fashion, concerning Pam-Am operations that could be used against any employees is well taken. I hope not just by me. Good point....

Nothing thru Wigginville at all yesterday. Thought there must be a bottleneck somwhere. So far today there was 1 that hung thru here about 9 AM. Did not see the power however I get a look at one of the new hazmats thru here. More HOKX (occidental) flaging white corrisive placards. "new" 18...

Spike I had no problem with your posts. Nor the discussion either. Everyone is intilted to their 2 cents as my dad would have said. The post became lively exchange of ideas and speculation on the the future of the railroad. I would encourage poeple to tell like they see it here. There is no wrong or...

I'll see what I can do as I'll be in St. Marys in June for a week. I'll find her one way or the other and get some pics. I sent them a e-mail some time back and didn't receive a reply either. I'm sure I'll have better luck in person.

I would like to think that personalities don't get involed here. I don't know the management at Pam-Am. I don't know how to run a railroad,"99% of the people on this forum don't either." I would also like to think that anyone working for the Pan-Am railroad would not be stupid enough to us...

The Lowell depot area was a beehive of activity today. I stayed late at work until 5:30 and from 2:30 to when I left everytime I looked out the dock doors something was moving. The 7148 605 +604 soloed west after dropping of a cut then it got dark and at least 3 seperate trains went west. There was ...

No going out on a limb here. You never know what you'll see with Pan-Am. Like today,no activity at all either in Wigginville or the depot??? I would like to see 4 MMA's hunting thru here on the curve. I just can't wait for spring so I can spot from my yard again.

Happy New Year all. After further review I believe I was looking at just one large engine on the JLCX 8885. This morning the CSX 3161 and 3159 headed east thru Wigginville stopped about 50 yds east of my vantage point. Then they backed west only 150yds not quite to the Morton St. bridge. They then h...
