Looks like the Morrisville bypass is going to take out much of the old rail yard in Morrisville.
Cant say about MA but they layed continuous rail down north of St Albans. Not sure when its going to be installed but they are getting setup.
As a avid snowmobiler I can say that the sport does bring in lots of business in the winter. How much is hard to say but I'll spend as much as $3K over a two week stay. There are 8 of us in the group so we do spend a lot of cash during our stay. Personally I would like to see the rails be put back i...
The only thing that will truly stop the rail trail is revenue trains running on the line. If that doesn’t happen ........ expect the worse
Living near a rail trail I think the railroad is going to have a hard sell. I hope it can make it but just incase I'm going to take advantage of what we have several times this summer and fall.
Getting north to Conway and from Conway to St J would require an enormous amount of restoration.
Vast (snowmobile club) got received their act 250 permit a couple of weeks ago. Looks like the phase I will be from St J to Joes Pond and Highgate to Sheldon Corners. What is interesting to note is that there has been *talk* about reactivation of the line for VRS from St. Johnsbury thru North Concord, Gilman and South Lunenburg to...
To bad there will never be another train to Beecher Falls but at least the money is going back into rail.
Noticed the rails are coming up between Colebrook and Stewartstown. Looks like they just need to clean the ties out for a new trail.
They stopped just south of town along Rt 28. You can see a commuter parking lot with a old mail car on a siding. Whats were they have a siding.
They are kinda sweating it up here. Been through a couple of buyouts myself (not RR) and it can be scary
With the concerns about US energy independence, high energy cost killing US business, killing the polar bears, and so on why are we shipping any energy source overseas?
The station is St J is getting a major face lift. No sure whats going on. New addition (kinda looks funny), roof work, and other general repair.
