What is the current status? Are all three now in service?

Thank you, MEC407. The article helped me to better understand the Tier IV landscape. In particular, I found the explanation about EMD's move to developing the 1010 instead of continuing to try to make the 710 Tier IV compliant interesting.

There is a recent picture of CECX 1919 posted at http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4340950 . Early in the year there were pictures, too ( http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPicture.aspx?id=205697 ), but at the time the locomotive did not appear to be in completed ( e.g. , lackin...

I like how the paint scheme has been modified from what is on MP36s. It works with the angular body.

The first F59, said to be numbered 97 and previously numbered 526, is at Western Avenue covered with a tarp; it's supposed to run sometime next week. by AMTK84, Fri Oct 09, 2015 8:25 pm
Thank you for the update, AMTK84

Are there any photos posted yet of a SD70Ace T4 that supposedly has been under construction at Muncie?

One (526) is at KYD getting painted. Another (532) is scheduled to be delivered to Metra in Blue Island tomorrow. Not sure where the 3rd unit is. (Re: Metra F59s? Post by TrainManUPRR Wed Sep 16, 2015 12:59 pm CDT)
Any status updates on Metra's F59s?

Thats a shame they are getting the MP36 scheme. With their angular bodies i thought the F40 scheme would look pretty good on them. (Re: Metra F59s?; Post by c604. » Thu Sep 17, 2015 9:34 pm) I like the MP36 paint scheme, but agree that with the angular bodies the F40 paint scheme would probably loo...

What are the lineages of these three units? The text with the photograph ( http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4296715 ) states 526 is formerly GO Transit. Did AMT acquire the units from GO Transit or purchase them directly from GMDD? It also appears AMT has upgraded some F59s to -3...

Thank you, TrainManUPRR. Will 97-99 be upgraded before delivery? If I recall correctly, Metrolink modified at least one of their F59s with a NOx after-treatment system. Metra is not planning to use urea. Right?

What is the status on the acquisition of the three Agence Métropolitaine de Transport (AMT) F59s? What number series will be assigned to them? 300s, 500s? For what purpose is Metra acquiring the orphans? They will be the only 710-powered locomotives in the fleet. My recollection is Metra acquired an...

401 will be the next -3C. It's currently in the Rocket House and is over halfway done. Just as information- 401 was completely repainted. It looks exactly the same as always- they did put new Ollie lettering on the nose, too. (Re: MP36PH-3S Conversion to -3C?, Post by TrainManUPRR » Mon Aug 17, 201...

Despite my assumption the Tier 4 EMDs will be based at least partially on the 4-cycle 256H, EMD still touts the 2-cycle 710: "The EMD two-cycle engine has responded well to the technologies required to meet these standards, and we expect to have more efficient and cost effective solutions due t...
