Unfortunately, the move is very unpredictable right now. There are a lot of variables tha influences if and when the cars are included in the northbound train from Palmer. You do bring up a good point. NECR does not have any Police unit and the local Police are not interested in assisting the railro...

The Millers Falls interchange has been problematic for the NECR. Just having that one connecting track makes picking up and setting out cars a bit more time consuming than neccesary. In addition NECR prohibits six axle power from the track so the set out and pick up requires a number of cars on the ...

Thanks for the recent intresting posts on this issue. You should just be prepared for a cascade of pontifications from the rr.net resident experts about the folly of any opinions other than their own.

Brattleboro, Vt. would connect to New London via Norwich, Storrs New London - It's only an idea, at this point. And a rather grandiose one at that. But that doesn't mean it can't happen. About 65 people met at Union Station Tuesday night to hear from those north of the city who are interested in cre...

Certainly all the negative points have great validity. The population centers served would include, Willimantic (pop 16000), UConn Storrs (pop 16000), Norwich (pop 37,000) and Uncasville/Mohegan Sun which is the second largest casino in the US with over $2 billion in annual revenue and thousands of ...

Jeff: Thanks for posting this interesting link. AFTER READING IT, I was suprised to see that the New England Central RR was involved in the meeting. Mr. Hunter from Rail America is a well recognized former GM of the NECR and currently serves as Rail America's Director of Government Relations. I am s...

One item left out of this equation is the casino in Uncasville. There have been questions raised over the years regarding tribal interest in creating a service. In addition with the casino proposals slated for Palmer there may be some interest in this idea.

Hi, I'd like to bring something to the attention of folks that visit and enjoy watching trains in Palmer. Lately a lot of folks have been venturing behind the station to the narrow strip of land near the diamond. Just this past week a lot of folks gathered to shoot images of NECR leased power waitin...

CN crew do cross the border and bring the train directly into Saint Albans "Italy Yard". The Swanton sub division runs north from St. Albans to the border where NECR authority ends.

Indeed, the article in "TRP" is a great feature on the FEC. The author really made an effort to help the reader understand the spirit and mood of the times. A great and interesting article.

Good Day: I'd suggest trying a few Frisco links given the heritage of the line. I recently joined on message board and found the members welcoming and friendly. Maybe they can steer you in a better direction. Railroadradio.net also has a link for BNSF/UP Ozark Region. http://www.frisco.org http://co...

Integrity failure is an automated response indicating the detector is no operaing properly. When this message is heard it should be reported to the dispacther by the train. After that initial report following trains should not have to report it if a bulletin has been issued by the dispatcher indicat...
