Use: field office for the local bus route. An the NE-5 is a fairly bulletproof compared to a typical job site trailer. Sits on an ex-NH yard lead, too.

Anyone know the car’s number? I looked all over … the repaint is *total*.

Three photos from 2016. Notice the bent step, spotting feature? Correct trucks?

Just east of the Seekonk St. grade crossing, the line crosses the outflow from Highland Lake. Some additional work was required to stabilize the under grade for the new track.

The chapter in Rail Lines of Southern New England (Branchline Books) noted the Norfolk County RR was double tracked in 1882. When was second main taken up? Anyone recall Rustcraft on today's Franklin Branch? It was located a short distance east of today's Dedham Corporate/Rte 128 stop. There's also an isolated siding diverging to the north near this spot, too.

Better, but not perfect

I watched the show. Overall, it was better than other railroad shows I've seen. I liked the loadout and rotary dumper sequences. On the down side, Matt was too animated ... unless you're looking for an example of a foamer. Acting like that trackside is a good way to get called in by the crew of the ...

Another option is Bogen's No. 2929 Friction Arm. It can be combined with various heads & clamps to tailor it to your needs. I have one and have notice it will magnify vibrations if positioned straight out. Keeping it "v" shaped minimizes this. Upside is it's metal and will hold just ab...

Canon's Digital Photo Professional (DPP), on a CD in the box with the body, has a "Batch Rename" feature which I use quite often. Adobe's Bridge application also has a rename feature that has a few more choices/flexibility than does DPP. I use DPP's tool more often as its easier to to crea...

I toured the property about 10 years ago with a couple members of the Walker Transportation Collection. One of 'em recalled the Park vividly. After an hour of searching all we found was: one standard gauge tie (in the area of the display tracks), a short length of narrow gauge track carelessly tosse...

you will hear about the Southern New England Railroad – the rail line that sank with the Titanic. While it's true Charles Hayes perished on that Night to Remember, but most of the work done on the SNE right of way was completed after his death. I was at Mansfield for a few hours tonite, after learning of the accident on another list. While I was there, several Acela Express and Regional trains went east on Track 2. Couldn't the 1st train clear at Walpole?

The reason why the 2nd Boston train had passengers transfer to the first one @ Walpole is because the first one had the EC-1 to operate in both directions between Walpole & Fox. Was the 2nd Boston train a Football Extra, or a normal move? If so ... Couldn't the 1st Boston train return to Walpol...

... as EMD F's weren't up to the grades in the Rocky Mountains. I recall something about an exchange between Al Perlman and a rep at EMD where Perlman stated as much. PA's were bought to give EMD time to correct the problem. The PA's weren't ideal in the mountains either, hence their replacement. As...

Is this the former NCDOT dome that was used on cross North Carolina trips during fall and other special runs a few years back? Nope ... that car, MILW 53, was sold to the Friends of 261. It can be seen in recent pictures of 261's train back in Milwaukee Road colors coupled ahead of the group's Skyt...
