Yes, the area to the north/west where that line runs is not a place to be caught... Where the line curves around the now demolished Miami Arena (not the AA Arena) and heads north away from the port is the location of the old FEC Miami passenger station. On Google Maps/Earth, you can clearly see that...

There is another thread on this topic with more information. Last time I remember seeing a train cross the bay was definetly a few years ago. The bridge is out of service at the moment, however it's repair is specified as part of the Federal stimulus package. I'm unsure if work has commenced or what...

Correction - The grade crossing is NOT on SW. 98th st. It is actually SW. 72nd Ct. My mistake.

This line currently ends about 6ft north of the SW. 12th street crossing. I believe the only customer that is still in service on this branch is a lumber yard between SW. 4th street and SW. 8th street.
