Thank you justalurker66 I was wondering about the tickets. I was trying to comply with the rules and make sure my ticket was easily available if the conductor asked to see it.

While I was in Chicago, I took a ride on the Orange Line all of the way to Midway Airport and then back into downtown because the Orange Line had not been built when we moved away from Chicago. I do not know when the CTA started planning to build the Orange Line but I am sure it was after we moved. ...

When I rode a South Shore line train from South Bend to Chicago and then back to South Bend in October 2021, I stayed at the La Quinta hotel which is conveniently located just south of the airport.

Another thing which I noticed when I rode the South Shore Line from South Bend to Chicago and then back to South Bend two years ago was the behavior of the conductors on the trains. On the way into Chicago from South Bend in the morning, the young woman who was the conductor carefully checked everyo...

I did notice the fresh dirt and the signs from the demolition company when the train ran through Michigan City. I first noticed the South Shore Line when I was a boy and we lived in Chicago. One summer day we went to either the national sand dune park or the state park and we used the Toll Road to g...

I don't know when I will be able to visit South Bend and Michigan City again because I live in Arkansas. The last time I was in South Bend or Michigan City was in 1999 when I was on vacation from my job at a local hospital. I wanted to re-visit South Bend and Michigan City again and I had the opport...

When I rode on the South Shore yesterday, I kept my mask on all of the time while I was on the train. Since I work in a hospital and am required to wear a mask all of the time while I am on duty at work, I usually wear a mask all of the time when I am out in public also.

I rode from South Bend to Chicago and back to South Bend yesterday. I didn't notice any constructing or destructing work on either Eleventh Street or Tenth Street in Michigan City but I do remember seeing many boarded up houses with big signs saying: "NO TRESSPASSING" as the train passed t...

I agree with MACTRAXX considering some of the comments I have read about some of my favorite music videos on YouTube. On the other hand, there are some videos with no comments or very few comments posted such as the folk music group whom I play bass with.

I like the videos and I think I have watched most of them. However, why are comments disabled for all of the videos? We can't even thank Metra for making the videos and putting them on YouTube.

Speaking of the Rock Island's Choctaw Route, seventy-nine miles of it is still being used by a Class III short line railroad called the Little Rock & Western from Little Rock, Arkansas west to Danville, Arkansas for freight only. At the eastern end in Little Rock, the tracks connect with UP. At ...

"Pueblo - Denver -Cheyenne"? In July 1995, I drove north on I-25 from Trinidad, Colorado all of the way to Cheyenne, Wyoming during the day. For most of this drive, I wouldn't say that I-25 was crowded and congested but there did seem to be a lot of traffic on the highway. Maybe a commuter...

Are they still planning to build this commuter rail line? I am asking this question because I am wondering where the passengers will come from? All of the people who are driving on the congested six lanes of I-35? We just returned from a visit to this part of Texas. We had to go back and forth betwe...

Before the Rock Island filed for bankruptcy in 1980, there was a place in Little Rock, Arkansas between Third Street and Seventh Street where the Rock Island tracks crossed the Missouri Pacific tracks. This crossing was a few blocks west of the state capitol. When I was in high school in the 1970's,...
