There is new track work going on at the IMT. Crushed stone in place, parallel to the existing track, ties and new rail stacked on site.

Hello all, can someone explain how-or if- delays caused by Pan Am result in penalties, monetary or otherwise, to Pan Am? On 3.28.18, I rode 686 to beantown and experienced a delay of about 1/2 hour. The conductor said that it was because the 'bridge' only had one track and that the freight train was...

The other day I saw a long string of tank cars on the track east of the Broadway crossing, going to Turner's Island. Any ideas as to what's going on with them? Scrapping outdated tank cars, maybe?

I wonder if the improved ridership is partially due to the earlier departure time from Boston to Maine on non event days. I think it may be much more desirable for many travelers to leave Boston at the earlier time and reach the northern destinations earlier as well. 6pm-ish is too early for many, 1...

Quite a few years ago P.D. Merrill in Portland, attempted to sell logs to a Japanese group. He amassed a huge stockpile of Hemlock logs along Commercial Street next to-maybe in-old yard 8. They sat there, for what seemed months. The story was that when the potential buyers cam to inspect the the 30 ...

Pan Am has spotted Emskip containers once again in the loading area on Commercial Street after about a month of no action.

I haven't seen any water train activity at the Commercial Street site for a couple of weeks. There are a lot of chassis in the intermodal loading area next to the tracks. Are they just concentrating on the Waterville trains now?
Anybody know what the story is?

Pan Am train heading east on track 1 past Mountain Junction with 'new' Pan Am (old CSX) 7552 and 7517 in the lead with Pan Am 371 and 502 following.

It's the 1st time I've seen any old CSX go eastbound past Mountain Junction actually hauling a train.
