So "Who"..... Since I obviously worked beside you at one point, how can you disagree? I was taught by the finest railroaders that were there. I'm absolutely dying laughing at the idiotic new guard comment as I was accused as being part of the alleged "old guard" right before I le...

much to the dismay of others? SERIOUSLY.............and I am sure that I can speak for all of us that put the time, effort, blood, sweat and tears in there when I say I wish there was a middle finger emoji on this forum. The 470 equipment will not go to Bartlett. The roundhouse is in no condition to harbor the fugitives.

Probably to North Stratford it would go.....and honestly, the further away the better from the Swirky Mittens.

Allow me to quote an engineer that worked for him at G&U:

"He will destroy that place, just like he tried to do this one. It will be so far leveled that it will never come back when he is done."

As for the equipment going anywhere> Good Lord above please stop.

Rudy definitely taught Court. And Court taught us all so many different things. We were so fortunate to be there and be trained by THE BEST. Rudy, Court, Gordon, Bobby, Fred.....just to name a few. 4266, anyone who thinks they are just gonna hop in the seat has a narrow view. It is a long term expen...

NOBODY ran that engine more effectively than Rudy. Court was a close second.

I think swirk does a good job running 7470, from the 3 times ive chased him, 7470 didn't have a problem when he was behind the throttle. Then I will tell you, unequivocally, that you have zero idea about steam operation and proper train handling. You are a "fan"....which is absolutely fin...

I still have a good feeling about the future of this railroad. As ive said before, I'm someone who wants to work there regardless of who's running the place or how it's run or whatever. I'd say that with very cautious optimism. Dream on. While this owner is in charge, it will continue on its southe...

4266.....lets not just gloss this over..... The gent in question was MORE than qualified. In fact, he was far better than the nozzle that is now the "road foreman". Probably why there was an issue. The engineer in question had a LONG history of operating some of the largest freight trains ...

1751 has had a condemned wheel set since it got there. 216 was the engine to run because of the turbo and the dynamics. You will.note that most of the time after 252 crapped it that 4266 would lead up, 216 down. Or 1751 up, 216 down. Other railroads did suffer during Krona and have come back. That r...

so, the short answer is yes. There have been opportunities at other railroads. But these other places have all been able to rebound. Why do you ask? WELL....as a manager for over 30 years I can tell you first hand....it's about your people. If you treat loyal people right, they stay. If you treat t...

Anyone who wants to know how things are or were should be taking Westbound31's posts to the letter. His posts are 100% authentic on how it was and how it is now. That is actually not the case. The 470 Club determines the usage of the equipment, and has actually placed restrictions on usage due to mechanical or operational issues in the past. When you don't actually own something, you can't zealously overlord no matter what this owner wants to do with the res...
