BN 9910, 9912, 9917, and 9925 are all NERR - Nashville & Eastern Railroad. They were purchased for use on the new Music City Star commuter service, but they bought four ex-Amtrak F40s which they use instead. They are sitting, neglected, in the NERR yard in Nashville. I suppose they could be put ...

And they'd basically have to add a new yard at the end of the line, too. They aren't going to go back 5 miles then reverse again into Hill Yard, that would be quite wasteful. Also, any trains going the rest of the route wouldn't be able to stop at Aurora, unless of course they move the station back ...

I saw a "Coach Cleaner" on the BNSF employment website the other day, pertaining to the coaches on Metra's BNSF line.

The two (well ok four) trains running on the BNSF are sponsered by the City of Naperville and the Village of Lisle, not Metra. The proceeds go to charity. Naperville's is called "The Santa Train" and Lisle's is called "The Polar Express." They are both basically the same thing, e...

Why should Metra be punished with slower speeds when it's the FR*CKING MORONS fault they got plowed into? I say go 70MPH, if more people are hit, too bad - maybe Darwin will actually hand out awards next time.

Well, now I have heard for a 2nd time that they are to be SD70ACes, 30 of them.
They may get some switchers too, but 30 ACes is the word for March 2006.

Flags of Our Fathers it is called.

I don't think they'd make the November 11th opening of "Derailed" if they were still filming this weekend.

Oh boy oh boy. Too bad they had to throw in some lame plotline with the trains. I love how the outside of the train has two levels and the inside only has one!

I think they were shooting some of this movie in Riverside last Spring. MP36 is in it...but not 409!

Never was really much stuff in that yard anyway, I'm not surprised they took it out.
It must have been more important in the BN days.

Well, technically the Transcon does...well, exactly what it's called...trans the con. So it's a 2000+ mile route vs. a 38 mile route. But anyway, BNSF is constantly updating equipment/technology on both lines. The transcon has to get new signals every now and then, and it just happens to be the CB&a...

Let us be mindful that five of the predecessors were gone before the "comfort cab' locomotives of today were introduced and be mindful that four predecessors had distinct freight and passenger schemes. Therefore to apply a Frisco passenger scheme (bright Red with highlighted Maize striping) to...
