Hey NYSW2300. Could you please expand on your previous post by listing the dates each "stipend" was paid to the M&E, and the dates the M&E purchased each piece of motive power and each piece of varnish? Thanks.

Thank you CJPat. Excellent way to sum things up.

As I stated in my previous post, everything was overseen by the County Manager and the Commissioner/Director of the DOT. You are basing all of your complaints on public statements Gordon Fuller made to newspapers (I agree with you, he was full of it). When the project first began, Union County publi...

Well Sirsonic, you claim that the funds have not been properly accounted for. All funding and allocation of said funding was approved and overseen by the County Manager George DeVanney, and the head of the DOT, Chris Colluri. In fact, it was Mr. Colluri who told the M&E to stop working on the Ra...

Unfortunately, the Rahway Valley is never going to be reactivated. No more public funds will be allocated to this project. I was a very big supporter of the project, and my business associate would have been a customer on the RV. But in the end, what we got was a $10 million dollar siding in Roselle...

As far as revealing who potential customers are, those are private business dealings that will not be made public until the parties involved agree to make them public. For all you know, my company might just be one of those potential customers. Or maybe one of my company's clients. And if we were, I...

There was a great feature story in a recent TRAINS magazine about short lines turning low density, sometimes dormant rail lines into busy operations that turned a profit. That's what I would like to see happen with the SIRR/Rahway Valley. I am a proponent of rail transportation, be it passenger or f...

Trainlawyer, Of course the customers don't exist. There is not an active rail line. I am not going to sign a contract and make a commitment for a service that doesn't exist yet. Once the rail line is active, then there is a service that can be offered. Once the service is available, if I want, I wil...

For those of you that will not have the opportunity to see it for yourselves, I will describe what was done at the Rahway Valley grade crossings on Route 22 in Union. On both the Eastbound and Westbound lanes of Route 22 (3 lanes on each roadway), the asphalt has been replaced for equidistant length...

The rails are intact. Trains could go over them.

The Route 22 grade crossings, both eastbound and westbound, have been repaved/repaired. No trackwork on either side of the crossings has been done.

One thing you are forgetting are the businesses looking to relocate. One of my company's clients was looking to do just that. A property next to the Rahway Valley was recommended, and it was basically a perfect fit. And WHY did they choose another location over that one? You guessed it. The rail lin...

The customers are not going to enter into a contract without an active rail line, and there will be no further work done to make the rail line active without committed customers. A great stalemate. I doubt very highly any private financing will enter the picture, being that the line is state owned a...

The sad thing is, there are four customers on the Rahway Valley that are very interested in rail service. I know one of them is very unhappy about the current situation. Unfortunately, with the State of New Jersey's fiscal situation, there are no funds available in the Transportation Trust Fund, or ...
