Not much left in the CV/NECR yard to see. The area where the turntable was is overgrown to the point you cant see anything. Not much else to see down there. There are some homeless people that live down there too in a few places that I avoid when I go in there at night,

The manifest will do Millers on the way North usually between 1500 and 2000 when it needs it. It could be any day. Sometimes 606 will go up there and do Millers and split power

I believe we are at 23.37 /hr. Yes if they cut pay, I will have to pull the pin as I cannot live on less. Yeah they told us/you that there will be no wage/vacation cuts until they negotiate a new contract after the takeover happens when your current one is up.

Not sure what is in the athletic fields, but its nothing to do with the NECR. The place is a coal unloading facility and we delivered there until I believe 2009.

I would be interested what they pay their engineers, as I am on for the NECR and will be following this closely.

amazing. coupler banging is, simply, employee laziness/ lack of train handling skill. engine idling? log events then call mass epa. no one should suffer exhaust. when not working, shut down the engines. no engine should run if unmanned. if oganz dumps are feared, install kim hotstarts. starting unm...

Yes the main portion was rebuilt to resemble a round house as it was before. The small office on the side is still there, it was gutted by the fire, but the interior was rebuilt. The turntable is no more, it was cut up on site and carted off in RR gons. I worked the yard swticher 601 Friday Jun 18. ...

[quote="slchub"]"But how many older guys, with at least 10 years on the RR hang out as fans after work?" That I have seen in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Elko, Winnemucca, Grand Junction and otherwise? None. The last thing a guy wants to do after running 8-12 hours is sit in the yard a...

They have been running the extras from Palmer to Walpole and back even when there is a manifest. The P&W have an order for several hundred cars or salt. They have been coming down in 20 -25 car blocks. Sometimes the manifest is overtonnage as it is and 3000 tons more wont cut it. So they take th...

I know most of you are not from around here. I have lived in this area all my life. Holyoke is a dump, plain and simple, there will never be a need for passenger service there, ever. As far as Northampton goes, Yes, there are many colleges right there. (the 5 college area). Students, would love to h...

I cant tell you how many time I have come close to hitting a car, or a person at a crossing. People just pull up, see that the train is not on top of them, and go, well the people behind them go too, and that makes for a close call. That is a daily event here on the NECR. Not long ago, Came throught...
