Well since it doesn't belong on NH line and is used for ESA duties....wouldn't you think it's destination is back to GCT? Sighting: Seen a night or two ago the 102 was sitting in Danbury Station pocket track with a bunch of work equipment. Couldn't make out the #s since it was dark and I was drivin...
I went to Pond twice to see this thing. They never use those MP15s to switch nor those Geeps. Whats up with that lol. I just see those worn down SW1001's switching....gets rather boring. Them ol' end cabbers are a dying breed, so get them while you can. If only anything built today could last even ...
There is still a daily AM direct train - it changes numbers and designation at STM. Not anymore. That changed with the May schedule change. Right now, the former thru train, #1923, at first operated to Bridgeport, discharged there, and deadheaded to South Norwalk, to which it became a Danbury turn ...

Highly agreed!!!
There's a business looks about 1-2 miles south of the station that has a siding with 3 tank cars on it in Google Maps. 408 Railroad Hill St. There's also a place called Farrel Corp that looks like a huge factory with a railroad running right through it. Damn shame if they don't get rail service. Th...
Talk about a WTF moment!!!! I guess some people in some places have truly nothing better to do with their time!!!!
hmm the 6 axle units are restricted on MN, they exceed the max load per axle on Metro-North. someone is playing loose with rules again. Guess it's been going on for a long time, because those 6 axles come often, and have been doing so for some time. And I thought the GATX units were OKed by MNR? ??
It appears PW has been leasing SD40-2s. I caught CEFX 3164 on a recent FPCH I video recorded at Rye. I believe they leased 2 others as well.
And contrary to what some here say, they would not have been allowed on MNR territory if their operations here would cause problems.
CT-2 is doing it differently lately with basically a two day round trip up the branch and back down. After northbound train does necessary switching at either Tilcon or Rings End in Bethel locos and usually an empty centerbeam or two tie down in Danbury on the Housy main until the next night when t...
CHFP comes down to Fresh Pond from Cedar Hill (New Haven) late night Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays with loads. FPCH heads up from Fresh Pond to Cedar Hill between 6 and 9 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They often get held up at Pelham Bay Interlocking for long waits until Amtrak Section A and...
The cable company is Kerite, just north of Seymour station. I don't know if they're still a rail customer, but if they are, movements are very infrequent. The Kerite siding is still in place, but it definitely looks like it has not been used in quite some time. I found out that Kerite gets a delive...
