Woodbourne is a suburb of the city and pretty safe. Don't make a nuisance of yourself as some shenanigans there recently have attracted the attention of Septa and local police. Sun angles are pretty good all day but better in the afternoon. The big draw of Woodbourned is the CSXT yard and NS line cr...

I dated a gal at Widener for eigteen months and walked many times from the T.C. to the university and back with no issues - a few times were after nightfall. I'm not a big guy, either. As long as you look like you belong you won't get hassled. I've shot from along the tracks a few times at street le...

Dave beat me to the Camden, Gloucester & Mt. Ephraim (we both lived along the line but in different towns) one he missed was the Lucaston Railroad. It ran from a connection with the West Jersey & Seashore (PRR) just east of Lindenwold to a paint works in Gibbsboro. Lucky if it was a mile lon...

Boyd is named for a CNJ employee. I can't recall if he was a roadforeman or what but the CNJ named the interlocking after him when he retied.

I do wonder why the PRR hadn't converted its New York City area swing bridges to lift bridges (Including both Portal and the Raritan Bay one). They converted the Delair bridge down near Philly to a lift bridge after all, and my understanding is that it was more reliable after that as well. The Dela...

Wow, I really miss the days riding the BSL, sitting up front and looking through the Railfan View to see the wayside signals along the way as we fly down the tracks underneath Broad Street. It has been a long time since you have ridden the BSL - most of the operators have covered over the windows o...

Sometimes terms in railroading long outlast their original owners. The New York Central advertised it provided "Early Bird Service" on freight cars at one point.

Sounds as if the horn on NS 3026 was tweaked a bit. I caught them in Brooklawn at 11.34 this morning as my photo that Bob linked to shows. Thanks Bob, I was being a bit slothful today.

South Jersey Shared Assets train WPMI-21 was assigned new power for its southbound trip to Millville, NJ today. Gone were Conrail blue units NS 5277 and NS 3206 which brought the train north this morning. CSXT 4406 and CSXT 4441 are now in charge of the Millville job. Here is a photo of MI-21 crossi...

Not a problem Mike, we all keep each other honest down here. I wouldn't mind if WPMI-21 had to make a pick-up or set-out at Woodbury so I could get a few more photos.

I own a Trackmobile that I assigned to a customer in Gloucester City off that branch line. They use it for pushing gondolas thru a contaminated dirt load out station. I've been catching WPMI-21 when I can over the last few weeks. At first they were pretty regular with a time of 09.40 through Gloucester northbound and a noon time southbound passing time. This week they've been earlier and today they received their form D to go south at 10.01 Hrs. Anyway, here are ...
