I'm currently a volunteer at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo, CA and we are in the process of acquiring a former Southern Pacific low hood GP9 that was last in service with the Marines at Camp Pendelton. I believe the transfer from there to Campo is going to take place next week... Wo...

I have an LED lantern manufactured by McDermott Light and Signal of Ridgewood, New York. I purchased it from railroad tools and Solutions. It's very bright and I have to be careful not to shine it in the eyes of other crew members when giving signals at night. http://www.rrtoolsnsolutions.com/safety...

I'm another military veteran, US Navy Reserve 1965-1985, including a tour in Vietnam in 1968. I noted with interest the earlier mention of the USCGC Eagle. In 1999 I was a volunteer crewman aboard the Barque Star of India owned by the San Diego Maritime Museum. We had opportunity to sail in company ...

It struggles to pick up a detector that is less than a quarter mile away, and often times does not pick up trains calling signals that are within a mile or two. Not to mention, it's unGodly difficul...

Just joined the forum today, although I've been a railfan for years and a licensed ham (K6CPO) for a year and a half. I'm a volunteer with the Pacific Southwest Railway museum in Campo, California. I work as train crew, and edit the museum's newsletter, in addition to doing a lot of their photograph...
