Oh wow, that new crossing looks great!
I saw #4120 pulling a passenger train thru Westwood this morning. Nice to see the remaining F40's still hanging on!
Following and here's to hoping for a good year for the CMRR!
Following. I hope you guys have a great year!
Been awhile since I last posted here, but I saw a unique and rare train today on PVL around 1:15 this afternoon. A rail train moving slowly through Westwood station going towards Hoboken. 3 geeps pushing it. I didn't see the beginning of it, so don't know if any engine up front. Any idea why the rai...
…i thought you were kidding but i guess you aren't? this is not how this works… Forgive my ignorance then. But my point was, there gotta be a way, somehow, to avoid the nimby’s, who would kill those additional PVL sidings in a heartbeat. Or at least minimize their impact so you could build the sidi...
NJT should just build those additional sidings and just not broadcast it too loud, that they’re gonna do it. Keep it quiet and you keep the nimby’s at bay. That is rather difficult to do with a NJ government entity as such is subject to open public meetings and the Open Public Records Act. Fine, th...

NS freight move, with NJT blessings from their MOW for the High, Wide, and Heavy Depressed center flat car. Thank you for the response! First freight move thru Westwood station in many, many years and I missed it! :( And I heard them leaving after picking up the empty car and missed that too.
So the other day I saw a depressed center flatcar, on the Hillsdale stub siding with some kind of big grey container on it, like a generator or something similar. A high & wide move I’m assuming. Today, the generator or whatever it was, was gone, but the depressed center flatcar was still there....
Well it is still sad to see ANOTHER railroad line in NJ disappear. From what I know, northern NJ used to be a hotbed of rails going every which way, and now alot of it is gone...
Yes that’s the one! I am definitely curious as to why CSX did this, especially considering Tenafly is a very anti-rail town.
I know about the northern branch light rail project. It is/was years in the making and may never happen at this point. Tenafly is vehemently anti-rail and fought this project like crazy, so it apparently was cut back to englewood. And from what I remember the rails were disconnected at the tenafly/e...
