Car 6190 has moved to the UP and car 6187 is now on the Milwaukee District. Both are former BNSF coaches.
Cars 8231 and 7277 have moved from the Milwaukee District to the Union Pacific Lines. I spotted them on a UP West Line train recently.
One of the cars that Metra bought back from Virginia Railway Express last year is now in service on the UP lines. It was the front car (behind the engine) of train 643 (to McHenry). I believe the car number is 8718 (a former cab car).
Does anyone know if cabcar 8465 has been rebuilt yet? If not, has anyone seen it recently...and if so, where? Thanks! Cab car 8465 hasn't been rebuilt as of December 26 (saw it at OTC). Of the UP's cab cars, the ones I know for sure haven't been overhauled yet include 8430, 8451, 8461, 8463, 8465, ...
Due to the ongoing overhaul of the 7400/8400 series cars, 8409, 8429, 8432, 8438, and 8445 (all rebuilt) are now a part of the BNSF/SWS pool. Additionally, Car 8476 (which ran on the BNSF/SWS until its overhaul) now runs on the UP.
Amerail Cab Cars 8418 and 8414, which had been on the Milwaukee District for a couple of years, returned to the UP lines.
A cut of about 13 retired Metra Electric Highliners now sit on a storage track in Deerfield (just south of the depot). They came from Chicago and arrived in Deerfield this past Sunday. There are now 30 plus cars in storage along the Milwaukee North Line (with the others being at Rondout).
I believe the cars (around 20 or so I think) have been stored at Rondout since late August/early September of last year. Not sure of the exact count.
When I used to take Metra downtown regularly around 2003-2005, there were quite a few of those cars with the green seats with the metal bar on top. I used to hate them; for a taller person they were shorter seatbacks to begin with, then to rest your head on the seatback? Nothing like just relaxing ...
Former Milwaukee Road Cab Car 8238 is now running as a trailer car on the UP lines, coming over from the BNSF/SWS pool. That's the first time I've ever seen a former MILW cab car on the UP liness. The other 8200 series cabs that have assigned been to the UP were built by the RTA in late 70s and earl...

As of today (8/8), the 148 was on a North Central Service train. When and if the 148 returns to the UP, I'm sure the 121 will be sent elsewhere.
The 113 was the lead engine on BNSF train 1277 yesterday (an express train to Naperville). It was coupled to the 191.
Currently, the BNSF/SWS uses the following F40s: 105, 112, 113, 114, 116, 117, and 183.
The Milwaukee District/NCS currently has car 7401, normally a BNSF mainstay. It recently returned to service after being overhauled.
