I know things change over time but back in the early 90's Housatonic bought the whole Maybrook line just to get access to the business south of New Milford. After a short while they were going to abandon the NY section but the MTA bought that. So unless something forces their hand I doubt Housatonic...

Last week I was down on Federal Road in Danbury I noticed a line of hoppers at Tilcon. Are they still hauling Stone this late into the winter or are the cars just being stored there ??

I also want to say I look forward to reading anything posted by Mr. Weaver. Growing up along the Maybrook line and near the NYC Harlem line. I just love hearing of his experience's on the New Haven, MTA, PC and Conrail. I hope someday when he's up north I get the honor of meeting him. Thank you and ...

Anything more known on reason for the flatcar/demolition debris car moves. If they needed a flatcar in Stockbridge, Pittsfield would have been a shorter trip. This all seems very mysterious

Mr. Weaver you are absolutely right about there being no buissiness between Poughkeepsie and Danbury. I know the Holmes siding was tore up in the early 80's as for the others I cannot say for sure when they went. My statement was just an observation of them spending a lot of $$ they didn't earn back...

I don't know the exact dates, but I think this is the same time they took up all extra rail along the line. All the controlled passing sidings from the NH days along the Maybrook/Beacon line were tore up. - I could never figure out Conrail's thinking with this line. Later in the 80's they upgraded i...

Years ago (I was a young kid so this was either PC or very tail end of NH days) I remember traffic lights hanging over the Rt. 52 crossing. - Also I remember reading after Housatonic took over they went into IBM once or twice for loads of recycled paper.

I know CP/D&H quit running these trains but did they give up the trackage rights ? If the rights are still active with the D&H sale to NS, what are the chances of NS running these trains again ?

I don't think the 311 bridge got raised, DOT signs still say 10' 9" clearance. And it caught another tractor trailer about 2 weeks ago.
