The truck was built by a couple FVRR volunteers from a 1966 Chevy suburban and old hi-rail gear that they bought and put together.

The Friends of the Valley RR have now acquired the New haven C-540 caboose that has been at Landon lumber since 1988. It was trucked to Essex last Thursday and is now back on its original tucks in the shop. it will be restored over the next 6 months or so.

The one on the Essex steam train web site is the most up to-date that is out there, but they have been on such a buying spree lately that it is hard to keep up.

130 plus more ties have arrived at the marina, and more and more equipment is getting staged there for track work. There is now new ties getting installed on both sides. With this early of a start the Valley is posed to get a lot on new track open this year.
