Re: CNZR - Armory Branch

Not a lot of freight movement right now but between Bloomfield @ Cottage Grove Rd and Hartford there's a lot of activity by the power company replacing the old wood poles with taller, metal ones. They're working pretty much daily, lot of different heavy equipment from Michels being used on the track...

Wishful thinking that makes sense for people wanting to see trains. Realistically a camera is not bringing people to Ayer, they're going to sit on their behind at home and watch on yt. Still, with a number of cams already up along the lines maybe it will motivate someone to get another up elsewhere ...

Looks like things are moving along again. Caught them this morning in Brattleboro with 4 units ( 3474, 3478, 3317, 721) headed South while 3476 stayed behind presumably to do other work.

Thanks guys, interesting stuff. I stopped by Palmer this morning and saw the loaded gons. Most of Palmer was empty save for some cars in the yard and the gons with a couple boxcars and such mixed in. Could hear a crew working somewhere nearby on the scanner but none of the 3 RRs were anywhere in site.

Gracias. Had also meant to ask if they had re-routed anything last week as they were washed out for a few days. Saw some cars on CSX that looked like NECR's. I know they regularly interchange at Palmer but I noticed a more of the WC boxcars in the past week and wondered if that was why.

Heard they're washed out again in VT but that was all I heard. Anyone know where and what the progress is on it?

Griffin line is not currently seeing freight. It has seen slow, ongoing track work heading in the direction of Hartford. Best place to catch CSO is maybe a matter of what type of shot you like or are looking to get, or are you mainly looking to view? Think it's CSO4 that leaves Hartford for W Spring...

Thanks for that info. I never got my train symbols down for PAS, 16R is/was mixed freight and those blue garbage containers, correct? Reminds me too- is there still a train coming out of CSX West Springfield that is taken from there to ED by PAR? I get thrown off because I've occasionally seen a lin...

Might have missed some changes to traffic and wondering if someone can fill me in. Posting here with ED as a reference point. Noticed "more" double stacks at ED, maybe the yard is more empty showing what's regularly been there or are they getting a dedicated IM train again now? There was (...

Seems like a good enough place to ask. Not sure if related but was wondering about those blue trash containers that started showing up in the past year or so. Was wondering where they originate/terminate and if they're separate from or related to the same type of blue containers that CSX has been mo...

Auto racks were spotted on NECR today headed South. Can also confirm that PAS had some of their racks today too.

Nothing like watching railfans, workers, and some foamers argue the legalities because absolutely no one here has ever trespassed on RR property, ever :P Really though I do enjoy seeing people discuss & explore the topic. It may, or may not, be worth noting that the tradition of hoboing and its ...

I've been enjoying the cameras in Chester, Westfield and West Springfield. The West Springfield crossing is particularly interesting since the gates are triggered frequently by yard operations. My favorite is when people see the gates go down and do a u-turn and it turns out to be the Lakeshore Lim...

Beat me to it. Saw it at ED @ 1015 tied down, limited visibility.
