kf7strng-- Sad news. Erie isn't that big a city: the GETS plant is probably a bigger proportion of the local economy than any one factory would be in a bigger city. We can -- must -- hope. Allen, I'm not quite sure what direction you were headed with that comment. The size of a city in relation to ...
I live in Erie. The last thing the newspaper said was something about building FOREIGN locos.. so sadly, no news on any new domestic orders.

Thank you !
Those are the same group that I photographed on 2/13/09 in Olean. I wonder why they are still there, Or.. Have they left, and returned again?
Thank you Mr.Timko! Thats what i was looking for, someone that could say with relative certainty
PVRX1, I would venture to think that you are correct. IF the WNYP/LAL wants to keep with their numbering scheme, the numbering would have to change. 550 is a C425, meaning it SHOULD fall between 425, and 430( well TECHNICALLY 429) and thus the only available road numbers are 427,428, and 429. and si...
RRPX 43 seen tonight on the DFT!
Dft-15 northbound @ 129 at about 5:47PM. WNYP 630 Leading, followed by RRPX 43, and about 21-24 cars. I don't know if someone else has spotted 43 on The Buffalo line, but I FINALLY did tonight!
heres a video i found on youtube of Cartier 47, which is now WNYP 637 hauling 50 loaded log cars. She is obviously younger here, and hopefully has brought good luck to the wnyp with her. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1UeR22y ... re=related
Greg, where was RRPX 41 at? last I knew it needed repairs. Where did it go?
Since the derailment, has WNYP said whether it will install more hotbox detectors on the Hornell to Meadville line? Also, are the detectors on the north-south line actually used? As has been mentioned, there are a few on the North-South "Buffalo Line". According to the timetable given, Th...
I wouldn't call it a "restriction", per se, but the road is VERY narrow in spots, and there is one particularly nasty curve that i seriously doubt any semi truck & Trailer combo can negotiate. I believe there is a low weight restriction, (less than 10 Tons), but i am not sure if big ri...
The DFT had a near miss with a tractor trailer in cameron,Pa, right almost on MP 126 . on Cameron Road.I am not sure when the train ran, but I saw it at 8AM there this morning. The tractor trailer was caught in the rails i believe. Not even sure what it was doing on that road as it had a tanker trai...
SO which is it.. One says it was salamanca, one says it was olean, both give locations. which is correct?
