I was wondering why no trains were running west of Ryders Lane in the snow.

Great pics and thanks for the heads-up. I wonder how frequently they'll be taking cars.

The signals at Cotters lane haven't worked for years. It makes sense to replace them w wooden crossbucks and have someone flag the crossing. It's what they normally do anyway. Also they replaced all of the trackage on the bridge over the NJTPK, and they have been doing tie replacement between Ryders...

I'm in it for the chicks! No... wait. I grew up with the Raritan River RR mainline about 400 yards from my house. When I was a kid in the 70s into the 80s - I'd watch them all day long. I always liked watching trains. A few years ago I got into photography - and then I got into photographing trains....

I purchased my copy from the group working to form the Raritan River Chapter of the NRHS. As part of the purchase, the organization requested an additional $20 donation for preservation of the Milltown station building which I was happy to make. Thanks so much for supporting our efforts to move and...

You have to wonder why CR went thru all the lawsuits and mess to acquire the RRRR in the first place. It doesn't appear as they give a rat's ass about it. In the 70s they told the transload co to piss off and sold the former station site/yard to a condo developer. The in the 80s they torn down the ...

When it does go to Silverline - it's probably somewhere between 11am and 1pm. Lately service has not been regular. SA2 usually serves Mauser in the Highview industrial park in East Brunswick 2x a week. Best bet is to get in your car w/ a scanner and follow/chase it. There's only 2 customers on this ...

SA2 runs to Silverline and Mauser. SA3 works the old Budweiser plant and the other customer down the line in Spottswood. Mauser gets cars 2x a week. Silverline is getting them 1/week or less. They run Tues and Thurs. They're the only 2 customers on this side of the South River draw. SA2 also serves ...

Thanks for the heads-up, guys; been thinking about this 'backyard angle' for awhile, so I decided to try it today, as the cloud cover would help while shooting from this side of the tracks. Not the best light, will probably drag out the flash next time..... http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPict...

SA31 just got the OK to leave the Church Runner at 3:07pm.

Didn't hear what the power was - but it's on the way.

A co-worker of mine who lives in Aberdeen - very close to the Matawan Station - said there was a washout on the NJCL - just south of the Matawan station.
