Re: Falls Road

Got it. Been too many years since I was there but I'd say you may be right, old station made into a freight house when the new one was built. Either that, or one of them was for the RL&B - didn't they run parallel with the Falls Road in places? Hopefully Charles will step in with the answer. I'm no...

Re: Could it be 3 miles long?

I'm sitting at the Frontier Yard and enjoying the view. Good timing today. It really busy. One train has caught my attention. It is a very long stack train with 2 engines on the front and 2 engines operating in the middle. Crew change and departure westbound about 7:20pm. While I'm writing this an ...

Great story, DRB -- it might have been a good thought to keep a spare pair of undershorts in the toolbox in
the back of those speeders! 🤣

Good thing NS and the state spent all that time and money to build that new bridge! 😖

Re: Trains on CSX St. Lawrence Sub (CR's Montreal Secondary)

Traffic on the St. Lawrence Sub might be light tonight because another rocket-scientist in a semi
smacked the bridge on Onondaga Pkwy. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have read that the pick-up/drop-off location near Indiana/Ohio line was Ohio City.

Re: WNY&P trains on the ex-PRR

The WNY&P has almost daily runs to Emporium to pick up fracking sand cars. I was in Olean last Saturday when a train returned to the Olean ayard from Emporium. The Driftwood turns are 1-2 a week. They leave in the mornings. The WNY&P ran a maintenance train to Machias last week. M-F a Farmers Valle...

Re: WNY&P trains on the ex-PRR

Charles, I believe there's a Driftwood turn, which runs most days (late afternoon/early evening) at least on M-F. This could be as needed, but I'll leave that for someone with better knowledge to confirm. Sometimes it's a lite engine move to Driftwood to pick up cars from NS interchange, as someone ...

This one hurts -- I've been a part of this site for almost twenty years and Noel was there when I first joined. It
was a joy to have discussion with him and his great number of stories.

Rest in Peace, Noel -- enjoy the journey on the last westbound, and we'll bring up the markers.

Re: Rochester & Southern Railroad (RSR) Discussion

Hey guys, My son and I were out for a drive Saturday and headed west on Ballantyne Rd over the R&S road crossing. To my surprise, all the trees on the east side of the ROW were cleared out for at least a good half mile (and maybe more). I know there's some kind of pipeline going in nearby. Just an o...
