I'm looking to do a bit of an adventure and ride the train all the way to Montauk and back. I've been on LIRR a few times but only in Queens. Normally get to the city on Metro North's Port Jervis Line. Has anyone ever ridden the Cannonball? I'd love to ride that, but it looks so crowded that it wou...

Pocket timetables were printed for GO 304. With all the last minute changes due to Amtrak work, I suspect they've been temporarily put on hold...

Around 8:30-9AM today, I heard a northbound come by (I am located right by the GW Bridge, where there is a whistle post for southbound going into the deep rock cut under the bridge). I did not see it, unfortunately, but I did hear it well and I can tell you there was a GE unit w/mechanical bell lea...

Track 15 was restored to service yesterday afternoon.

This weekend is an odd ball one due to LIRR testing in HAROLD Interlocking. Only Lines 2 and 4 are in service for through moves. Line 1 can be used to Sunnyside only. The Boston trains are being put on the high side...150 was on 18.

The second dual mode in the morning normally comes as equipment from Jamaica; that will no longer operate and will just turn from 2742 the night before. 2777 will go to the yard in Babylon and turn for 2782, avoiding what is normally an equipment move from Speonk. The train that would've made said e...

It usually doesn't happen, but per the normal scheduled manipulations the off season 2710 is a 5 car train.

The incident train was a PTC test train. I highly doubt it was an M3, since they're not being equipped with PTC.

Both Holiday Expresses are scheduled into NYP 10:46a. The Babylon one is scheduled to Montauk but of course that can change. I wonder why they changed this year's Ronkonkoma to leave 3 minutes ahead of the regular. As expected, it delayed the regular by almost 10 minutes. Last year with was in the 8...
