Finally.. after years of following the trials and tribulations of the CMRR..finally got to ride on 8/4/19 with wife (convinced by the ice cream Sundays). On a beautiful day the Alco RS-1 "burbling" up the grade on the outbound trip was worth the fare in itself. I had great discussions with...

Did the county force the placement of equipment on SEVERED rail (land locked) in Phoenicia outside the museum station.? There seems to be plenty of attached track that would have supported storage. Also a two track covered storage facility is visible. Is this empty? That ALCO switcher outside is not...

HO-6 coming up the Corning Secondary... For the last few years we camped at the KOA in Watkins Glen. HO would come by between 7 and 9PM and would be blowing the grade crossings early enough that the kids could sit on the hill and be acknowledged by the engineer with a blast. The best was the return ...

What a delight it was to ride the Conway Scenic on 6/2. A trip in the ex-GN dome and great commentary over the PA made the trip that could have been boring (for the wife) .. very interesting. What was the best though was the friendly staff and the reply too .. Can I walk around the yard? "Faw S...
