The latest track work timeline lists Laurelton (February-March) and St. Albans (April) for upcoming ADA related work. That's good to hear, especially St. Albans because many don't realize just how busy that station actually is. Seeing those timeline months has me thinking that Lindenhurst, Copiague...

Love the train car roster of Metropolitans! They didn't specify M1 cars 9760-9770, and I know for a fact M7 car 7425 isn't the only one that has been destroyed.

Found out the locations of where the elevators will be installed at the four stations. I was correct about Amityville and Lindenhurst, but incorrect about Massapequa Park and Copiague. Locations: Massapequa Park: Two segments to the East of the ticket office near the parking lot crossover. Amityvill...

I can't find photos from Copiague or Lindenhurst, but the Amityville Village Hall said they put up barricades (blue boxes) so they could bore through the concrete and put in the supports for the elevator. It was also made clear on why the entire parking lot(s) were closed. Just as I expected, the el...

This is something interesting that I didn't know about elevator installation (at least for a station that is finally going to be ADA accessible). I read an article recently on Amityville's Village Facebook page that this past weekend (14th-15th) the station AND parking lots were both closed due to t...

Obviously, with this being a sad moment, what is the fate of the tower? Is the tower going to be slated for demolition before 2025, or just outright abandoned?

The Current timeline for ADA accessibility work is as follows: Copiague - Weekend of September 23-24, 2023 Amityville & Lindenhurst - Weekends of October 7-8 and 14-15, 2023 Massapequa Park - Weekend of November 11-12, 2023 I was specifically told by a member of the LIRR that of 3 remaining Suf...

Edward captured a photo while enroute on his train, and when he approached Hicksville, this is something interesting he captured.

What is going on at Hicksville with the pedestal signal at DIVIDE4?

MATT - Again the proper description for the color stripe is a sign TOPPER. A pinstripe is totally different - for a description search "Pinstripe" or "Pinstriping and their uses in design" and you will then understand more... There are NO MTA signs of this type in Grand Central ...

Just as a little token, I screenshot the Grand Central Madison Wikipedia page. Then I went into paint, trimmed it, and even though these signs were never made, here is what one platform sign with blue pinstripe looks like.

Since I have the TrainTime app on my phone (I upgraded to an iPhone last year after moving) so I can stay close to home and printed timetables were phased out in 2020, I saw a few trains added and interesting sequences of direct service. 1.) The "Ronkonkoma Rocket" returns. After departing...

According to CBS News, they found a typo etched into the wall. A 1928 quote by author Georgia O'Keeffe has the author's name misspelled with it being spelled with only one "F" instead of two. The MTA emailed CBS News, "We clearly F-ed up on this one, and it's being fixed."

After seeing photos of the new station, it looks like something out of the Jetsons. It's so clean, and they have these supports in the middle that apparently light up that are in alignment with the street below (ex. 46th Street). Aside from the Solari signs for the Upper (201-204) and Lower (301-30...

My buddy Edward Hand had the GOLDEN TICKET that all the passengers of the first revenue train from Jamaica to GCT or GCM received. I actually have a first revenue M1 patch that they gave my late grandfather when he got on at Bellmore on Train #93 on December 30th, 1968. After seeing photos of the ne...
