4056 was scrapped March of 1995. Here's a video I shot of her back in 1994 when she was being used for parts on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

There is recent interest in acquiring the inactive portion of the railroad to allow for the extension of the Headwaters Rail Trail. It doesn't say if the rails would be removed or if the trail would co-exist with the railroad.

Just for the heck of it, how successful would it be to operate a tourist railroad using the Randall Secondary from Solon Road in Solon out to Route 44 in Mantua? The scenary along the line is beautiful not to mention passing by WildWater Kingdom in Aurora and ending at the former railroad station in...

An older proposal showing where possible stations could be built along the line. As you can see, several of the pictures appear to be taken when the line was once active. Harper Rd still has the gates and Brewster Rd in Aurora still has signage. http://www.multimodalways.org/docs/govts/counties/OHMP...

A recent article from 2012 discussing the possibilities of using the "Randall Secondary" line from Solon to Mantua as part of the RTA Blue Line extension. "In the long term, the vacant Syms warehouse could be demolished to expand the park-n-ride into the south end of the property, nex...

SwineCreek: Here's an article that discusses converting the ROW into a bike trail from its current end-point at Headwaters Park all the way to Reeves Rd. http://news-herald.com/articles/2011/07/07/news/nh4198999.txt?viewmode=fullstory . This would include the Swine Creek Rd area. I've asked the Geau...

Was trying to find pictures of the new connector or at least map views, but nothing has been updated yet of the new connector. Do you know if any of the TTRR is in use from the wye at Schneider Rd. to the dead-end at South Ave? I can see on Google maps a new crossing was added on Research Dr. (howev...

The connector track at Vulcan has been in installed. Not sure if they have officially abandoned the Old Road yet. The ToledoBlade had a picture of them rehabilitating the crossing at Dorr St.

SwineCreek: I've driven down Swine Creek Rd. to find the overpass this past summer. I bought a DVD that shows trains running over that over-pass and had to see it in person. Do you know if there's any track evidence left on the ROW? I know there's a park not far down the road where the ROW runs righ...

Has anyone walked the former B&O corridor in the Swine Creek Reservation area? I see on the Geauga Park District website they purchased the B&O corridor in the Swine Creek reservation (I believe to convert to a paved rail-trail in the near future). Just curious if it's walkable. The steel br...

Does anyone have any photos of this line or links to photos? I have a major interest in this line since I bike it often in the summer. To see a photo of a train would be awesome.

Here's the link from the PUCO website that shows the "new" crossing being installed on the old NS line in Solon on Flanders Rd. You can see new rails, ties, and crossing padding being installed. Although no trains have ever used this crossing. But the flashers and gates do look good. I sti...
