Then you got 30th anniversary of the amfleets in 2015 too. Leave it to Budd to have all their railcars last this long. :)

I recently saw film from RFKs funeral train.
PRR (or PC) 120 was the observation car. It was in Tuscan livery , but had "Penn Central " on the letterboard and PC worms on the car.

My fave Silverliner III cars were 234 & 235. Who here remembers their first config with red/black high back seats. The seats were fixed and did not flip over. Each half of the car's seats faced the center of the car, so in the middle, a pair of seats faced a pair of seats and there was a little ...

"Renegades" featuring Lou Diamond Phillips jumping from the roof of one M3 to another going in the opposite direction near the Front St portal. He gets on the train in Toronto. A Toronto subway station is outfitted with Septa maps and signage. The Toronto cars look a little like the M3s.

If I didn't know any better, that's the original cast-iron PRR sign there.
Won't be there for long.

I came across this map detailing "future SEPTA expansion" lines while surfing the 'net: http://www.svmetro.com/septawatch/ma...a-map-v3.1.gif Mostly a fantasy "wishlist". But some of the projects are becoming more realistic as the gas price go up. And I know at least some of the...

Many of my Archbishop Carroll friends talked about the "shortcut" which somehow involved crossing the Paoli Local tracks and crossing private property to shave some distance off the walk to the P & W station. Thankfully, I can recall no one ever getting hurt. I wonder if that "sh...

What happened to the High Line's electricfication? Ya'll know the one that runs from South Philly to Zoo Interlocking, the elevated South Philly portion (bridge) looks like it break anytime now. Was it always like that? Was there any regular passenger service on the High Line or was it only Army-Na...

In 1963, the Electroliners were sold to the Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company, also known as the Red Arrow Lines, and the two trainsets were renamed Liberty Liners. They were fitted with third-rail contact shoes to operate on the Philadelphia and Western Railroad tracks, which used third...

Also where does SEPTA refuel their diesels? There is a BP station in Paoli <g> Seriously folks... Could it be where Amtrak fuel their diesels?

If route 23 goes back to trolley service, would SEPTA be using rebuilt Ex-Kansas City, PTC/SEPTA PCC trolleys? I found this what if picture at: http://www.phillytrolley.org/pcc-III.html. Besides the fact that there will never be trolley service again on Route 23, it would be difficult to do the sam...
