I thought I read somewhere that they're building high level platforms at Somerville. Also, most stations could use some extra TVMs.
If it's an F40, then it's likely a "cabbage" (cab + baggage) car -- that's what many of Amtrak's F40's have become. I've also seen them on Amtrak Cascades trains; that's what makes them look double-ended. Cabbages don't run on trains in and out of NYP. Too tall for the North River Tunnels...
Got a quick Q about the trackwork near the Raritan River. Is there still a wye where it joins the NJCL? (CHURCH and ESSAY?)
I caught it a couple years ago going through Fanwood. That's the only time I've seen it on the RVL.

I think it's used as an alternate route to the the Erail/Port Newark area via the Chemical Coast.
The arena is "The Rock" (the Prudential Center). The new walkway I think is Triangle Park.
Is Shore currently set up like a wye where trains from the east on the NEC can go onto the AC line without having to reverse?
Have the P40s been run with the multi-levels in revenue service yet?
