Even the shrinking market increases the prices based at lower production quantities; you may not forget the much less kids today grew up with a model railroad but with computers and smartphones, so they unfortunately have much less affinity to the hobby than kids living 30 years ago... :(

St. Anton´s railway station had been abadoned and transferred in 2001 necessary for the alpine skiing championships so it´s clear that Trainsim´s location look different...

I think that would only be an alternative for very small series or rare models; also i see the danger of illegal copies included too.

That´s what i think too. The Märklin bankruptcy should be a warning example too. Besides other management failures in model developements Märklin thought that their name would be good enough to ground higher prices based at the pure german production but this had not been accepted by the customers. ...

Most of the USA modelrailroad builders transferred their production to China to save costs and raise their revenue instead doing chinese joint ventures like the german producer Piko sucessfully did; based at the chinese co - owners illegal copies are no theme then cause in this case chinese authorit...

Unfortunately it seems that SMS rail lines obviously have no interest in the Sharknoses cause in my opinion they would have the knowhow and the ambitioned employees to get one of them back at the rails again... :(

Maybe MRC used that special screws to avoid that we try to do some work or repairs at ourselves... But i think the main reason is that they will secure that kids have no chance to get into the model railway power supplies cause other producers use similar ways too.

@George; unfortunately i´m not fit in the american laws. Here in Austria the city would be in very big troubles in this case when they cut up the Alco illegally and if we can be sure that Massport never got a removing incitement by the authority. In this case the city did a juristic called intention...

As far as i remember the Mehano locomotive had been distributed in the USA by Model Power. Many years ago i had bought the Burlington Northern - version of this loco via Walthers. I had added a flywheel to the motor to get a smoother running locomotive plus european couplers and it´s still in use......

I know the history but the "culture shock" is concerning those americans who negotiate that the russians did functional copies and proper developements of Alco and FM techniques.

Based at the shell´s form any decoder usable for an Alco RS3 should fit Chris´s TEM2 locos too.
I will use my two TEM´s as a team and sometimes combined with the 2TE10U set but as a culture shock Image also with Alco RS and RSD´s...Image

Many thanks for the information; so it seems you got the first two TEM2´s Chris had built.
I´m bit too conservative to use DCC so mine will be supplied by a MRC 260 transformer/rectifier.
