Re: E Line car storage

Lechmere yard holds a few trains. Also, several early-morning runs from other lines run through to Lechmere and then become E Heath Street trains. If you look at the official schedule you’ll see a footnote that reads something to this effect also.

Well I know about the pocket track at Blandford. But what I find interesting is that even the Lechmere-Govt Center shuttles are signed as “B Govt Center” trains.

I have seen B Kenmore trains before. I think the letter is there to designate that the train is heading outbound. Why it is always a B, I do not know.

I was actually referring to the propulsion but see where you are coming from in regards to the horn.

I really appreciate how much quieter they are than the Type 8's. You can hear the 8's from blocks away, it is egregious!

Glad to see the third brake light!

Also, glad to see they raised the partition next to the center doors on the inside of the car so that the salts in the winter won't corrode it as much anymore!

This indicates they are now integrating data not only from a sensor somewhere as far east as Park, but also a sensor within about a hundred yards of Kenmore. Progress! I believe it's the AVI sensor at Copley outbound (which determines which way the switch gets thrown--straight for B, C, D or left f...

So has anyone heard any details about the Type 9 procurement? I thought I heard the T was going to announce the winner sometime this month. It's already the 26th and I haven't heard anything.

The announcement plays at Ashmont because the train is going to continue without passengers. And the announcement has been on the Green Line right along. In one of the interview videos of Frank Oglesby (the voice of the T) he said he recorded the Red Line announcements in 94, then "again"...

How do you feel about the suggestion of running every train to Lechmere and then assigning it a rotating branch assignment as it turns back west. i.e. B, C, D, E, B, C, D, E etc.? There are several reasons why this will not work. First on the basic level, the system could not support all the servic...

OK then, so the T sabotages their own service. Why? You're so "in the know" perhaps you can explain it. Tell us the facts of the situation. Be happy to. You see the T practices the law of "CYA" (e.g., Cover Your Ass). Whenever anything happens they have to do something although ...

Every line was FUBAR'd for the morning rush today, with the exception of the B Line (though I'm sure it was it's typical miserable self) and the Blue Line (which of course, never has a problem unless a wire is down). There was a train which refused to release its brakes at Riverway, causing the E t...

What they need to do is make this a heavy rail system that connects to the Red Line at South Station.

I've noticed many green line trains open all doors during off peak hours and people sneak in the back. This could also cause a "decrease" in ridership. Or perhaps more people are buying weekly passes BECAUSE the fares are higher, and being waved onto the bus or green line without their tri...

Pesaturo is full of shit. It's not "dangerous" to grease the rails.
