I am surprised they are still moving cement. I figured the junk left in the silos would be gone by now. When they announced closure they said they were still going to operate in some capacity right into 2025 so they could keep making product for a bit possibly. Sometimes companies (that are big emp...

For comparison, at the height of the Irving to CSX (by way of PAR/Keag) haulage service, they were running a 3 sided job and it usually was in the 50-60 car range.

Pan Am only did every other 4th roughly when they put the new rail in. I suspect this will be right up to Class 3 again.

Would likely be either L071 or L070. All former ST symbols have been purged from existence on CSX.

However, my contacts still up there on the RR say there is no derailment. Where are you getting your information from?

When you pay employees peanuts and don't pay property taxes or capital projects, you can afford to make questionable moves like this and NEGS.

There is around double that in T&E on the former ST/PAR. https://www.railwayage.com/news/blet-ratifies-csxt-springfield-terminal-implementing-agreement/ "According to BLET, the agreement covers approximately 30 union members and addresses changes in operations and the merging of workforces...

It's an interesting position - almost like an hourly Trainmaster.

That's a common train size with Jay being gone. Still decent tonnage for one customer each way.

Since the track is still in service afaik up to the inbound lead maybe they were just testing the entirety of the branch.

That big swath up on the hill on the right on that guy's video as he walks also made me suspect it wasn't railroad (or all RR) related. That land is likely not even owned by the RR and would not benefit a couple of extended tracks in any way.

If they moved cars that way NS would get a cut, they won't do that. If they need to extend beyond the two train pairs they'll renegotiate with NS to run more over PAS. PAS is always going to need something that CSX could pay for.

Pretty sure the agreement was for 2 train pairs across PAS before they would need to come up with another agreement so they can get another pair through there.

I don't think they would be clearing south of Military Road (Route 2) south of Winn. That's way down by MP 4 in DCS, seems pretty far south.
