I wonder if this will also lead to the equipment rotting away in Port Jervis to being shipped out and hopefully restored.

Was 18 ever owned by NYSW or was that property of the Historical Society? That was once property of Morris County Central, correct?

Does this group still have the Plymouth 18 Tonner #18 and RDC's M-2/M-4?

I get the sense the M&E has been losing money over recent years. After losing the Morris County trackage to Chesapeake and Delaware, Bayway, and Maine Eastern; they haven't really gained any customers or revenue that would at least equal what they once had. Plus, you look at their recent roster ...

Even more curious about the equipment in Port Jervis. That E8 and RS-3 definitely have some sort of value. Really is sad to see how this turned.

Anyone know if the equipment in Port Jervis is still there?

As well at the tiger striped Comet 1 cabs. They also had the AC designation.

I am ashamed that we cannot get our act together to even pretend to use there engines as cab cars. Why we are getting a pass from the FRA about this is beyond me. Does any of the old timers know the history of why our HEP ended up not matching Amtrak's? This makes borrowing equipment a difficult pr...

NJ Transit really making a mockery of the PTC mandate.

It’s too bad what has happened to this company as I do admire their appreciation for golden age railroading. They had a real nice personalized touch on The Hoosier State and it seemed to gain appreciation from the riders. Too bad it just never worked out.

That E8 and RS-3 are certainly worth saving. The E8 was operational not too long ago, but needs work since it could not run on its own when brought to Spencer, NC. That Alco in Passaic though is just a cab. LIRR converted it to a power pack.

Re: Northern Branch HBLR (was DMU proposal)

Surprised the Northern Branch never became a full commuter line running in the line’s entirety. The Northern Valley lacks any commuter rail line, and this line runs through the heart of multiple towns that house many commuters into NYC.

Did NJ Transit have any say on how they wanted the EOH Shoreliners? They changed the numbers of only the cab cars and also changed the names on the majority of the cars that came over. Seems like an unnecessary change.

Thank you, I appreciate the answer. I'm assuming that's why the Shoreliners came over, because of a fleet shortage?
