Thank you! The river is low because of the dry period. We had a huge luck because during the week there was no rain at all, just 6 sunny days. We were told before the trip, that usually it rains in the area every week. All locomotives were made in Harbin (China) C-2. 4 pieces are on the line and two...

IIRC, Berkshire KS 2916 has a booster. I forget where it's stored, but if you dig online, you'll find her. C&O 614 also had a booster, but it was removed a while back. Thank you! Meanwhile I contacted the guys from the C&O 614 and they confirmed, that the 614 has again a booster and it work...

Hi

is there any preserved locomotive with trailing truck booster (working or non working condition) ?

Several years ago I visited the museum in Baltimore but forgot to investigate this detail on the No. 490.

Thank you for any reply.

One of the working steam cog railways in Austria is the Schafbergbahn close to Salzburg on the wonderful Wolfgangsee. Here are some pictures from the last season: http://666kb.com/i/c935tcvzpnkiyp0rj.jpg The final station on the peak. http://666kb.com/i/c935u14t5f5cpy2hr.jpg One of the steam locomot...

There is definitively no plan to open to Thailand (the line was build during the II. WW and bombed several month later). From Thailand the line is operational up to the side river of Kwai (Bridge over Kwai river). On the Burma side the tracks are completely removed. Here are some pictures from the e...

Hi We are looking for a little help. Where can we search the history of the A&StL -- Atlantic & St. Lawrence RR (1848-1854)? They purchased 27 locomotives from Porter (25) and Hinckley (2). All were broad gauge engines (1676mm). The A&StL was merged into the GTR (Grand Turnk RR) which ha...

Now 50 dead, 676 injured. Matthew, you may well be right; I am no expert. Trains should have crumple zones like cars, you are saying? Maybe FRA standards are also influenced by relatively slow US trains sharing tracks with very heavy freight trains? In any case, apparently neither set of safety sta...

Hi George

They were attached originally to the initial thread, but for some reasons the system lost them (exceeded the 800 pixels limit, however as we see they were smaller than 800 pixels).
Thank you very much for your comments!
