Former B&M lightweight sleeper SALISBURY BEACH is for sale. The owner had a sign to that effect on display inside his car during the AAPRCO convention's first night car party at Portland ME on 9/22/2014. I believe it is the only former B&M passenger car that is currently certified for mainl...

The coach in the photo, Amtrak 4616, has an interesting history. Built by St Louis Car Company in 1964 as UP 5541. Later Amtrak 4581 then 4616. Later RBBX 43012. Later NCDOT 400024 CABARRUS COUNTY, but not refurbished for revenue service. Was listed for sale in 2020; I’m uncertain about it’s current...

I cut one of the Pacific cars yesterday off the tail of AMT 48 and placed in the storage yard up against the NYC3. Guess a trip today on AMT 290 to Burlington? That is what the yardmaster told me was going to happen. We will see what happens this afternoon. The I believe PACIFIC ISLAND will be maki...

Has the date these cars are set to leave CHI on #5 also been set back? I just might find myself trackside (800ft away) taking a peek. They traveled on train 5(09) from CHI to EMY. Experienced a very long multi-hour delay at Truckee with motive power problems. Used a UP loaner to head west from Truc...

Amtrak cancelled train 49(06), so this private car move should happen on train 49(07).
