the rail at Mcclellan park has been used for some time now since the base closure. it was first operated on by the Yolo Shortline then when they merged it was operated by Sierra Northern Railway. patriot rail recently took over after a bidding process by mcclellan park.

Really? thanks for the tip. didnt know that since its one of the places that this thread is about. :P Sac city is NARS endorsed. JCCC is the NARS academy. Modocc is a rail academy that neither NARS or any or the big boys will acknowledge. there have been some i know that have gotten on at the class ...

Luckily the class held at Sac City is NARS endorsed (made sure of that before i put it on my resume) so it falls into the same catagory. and its a hell of alot cheaperthan jccc or modocc which NARS wont have anything to do with.

The class 1's should have those who have never worked on the rails or might be a foamer work on a shortline for a while. even those with military exp. had a coulple come to work that didnt last the week. too big too fast. oh well. it will deff give them an idea of what they can look forward too.

Plus on a shortline we can do all the classic railroading moves that the guys on the class 1's would get in big trouble for. The company i work for has an interchange with Uncle Pete and we usually hear things like, "you guys get away with murder". they have more power but we have more fun.

I highlly recomend the class offered at Sac City College. the gentelman in charge is well recognized and respected in the railroad community. the class is endorsed by NARS. Alot of the class gets hired out by the class 1's in the area and the local short lines. from what ive heard the Modocc Academy...
