On a side note. Looks to me like that vid was shot at Langhorne. If I had to guess (judging from the make up of the consist) that train may have been, Q410, Q418, or Q438. All 3 of which are normally powered with 2 units on point, but a lot of times will be seen with several more units along for the...

Not sure about the 'namesake'.. But the area I'm referring to is along E. State St Extension between Whitehead Rd and Klockner Rd. I believe the area is called "Fairgrounds" and /or "Grounds for Sculpture".

They used to side that train at "Fairgrounds" siding, but I hear they now tie it down somewhere at the NJT end of the old Morrisville yard.

That would have most likely been the 418. They leave they're train out on the main and proceed (light power) into Woodbourne yard at fairless junction to pick up the rest of they're train. Sometimes they don't pull far enough ahead to clear the circuit at 24.0 (Penndel 413) grade crossing at the gat...

RE: Passenger service on the Cut-Off. After reading the article in the above link. It appears that there was passenger service of sorts on the line for a short period. The cutoff was not completed until 1892, but apparently had made its way to the Upper Dublin area by 1888. I cannot find any records...

This is getting old but I will say it one more time as clear as I can.. The engines were not derailed, nor did the wreck occur mid-train. If you watch the vids closely, and read the posts, all is answered. In the seconds just prior to the collision, its very unlikely the engineer had time to throw t...

Seems that work is complete on the undercutting between CP Wood and Woodbourne under the Morrisville Line Bridge (NS Trenton Cutoff). Landscapers are putting final touches on the scene. Does anybody know if this was the last restriction for double stacks on that line? I know they are still doing som...

SD80Mac,

From what I gather in that news clip above, the guy driving the truck is the boss... The reporter states " The driver uses the crossing to get to ""HIS BUSINESS""

OK folks, Looking at the area from 'Birds eye' sky views. The grade crossing is labeled as 66th St. Which dead ends at a trucking yard of some type on the other side of the tracks from the point of view of the camera in link 1.. Therefore the truck had to cross those tracks to get to that yard, and ...
