To set the record straight and recap what everybody has speculated. (1) 1274 was originally S-3 1174. Burned in a roundhouse fire at Springfield,Mass. and rebuilt to an S-4 by ALCO in 1957. (2) 1274 was the ONLY B&M switcher painted in the McGinnis blue, black, and white paint scheme. (3) Yes, t...

What differences are you talking about? Both the 4265 and 66 were identical, when 4266 was re-habbed and painted in the so-called 'Blue Dip" in August 1969, there was a lot of body damage including a rotted out number indicator, missing stainless grille section on the Engineers side, and missin...

Yes, I remember that idea being kicked around before Guilford came in and took us over. The idea was to use old F-7b's that were kicking around, but nothing ever got started, shame too, would have been nice to see the old B-units put to good use.

P&W 4003 has gone back home, deemed too expensive and time consuming to fix. The other two that were supposed to be part of the lease agreement are also junk, the lease has been cancelled, we'll just keep beating 3247 into the ground until the Gensets are fixed.

3247 is blowing oil and leaking water, it hasn't been used by the work train for over a week now. We were using 904 since late last week, but now she is losing water like a murder victim and is vastly underpowered for the work we need her for. That leaves the Gensets, they just SUCK, we've been usin...

SW-177a.jpg In November 1960, B&M SW-1's 1109 - 1110 - 1111 were sold to the Montpelier & Barre, the latter, 1111 was kept at Montpelier out behind the shop for parts. As we all know, the 1109 and 1110 have been saved, but what became of the 1111? The last time I saw her was 1972, anyone in...

For the last 2 days the "T" has had a contractor at Wilmington Jct. completely removing all trees and brush from between the mainline and the Wildcat Branch and along the mainline up to the Route 93 overpass. While passing through there this morning on the work train, I noticed you can cat...

The "T" wants the new section from "JK" to "VALE" up and operating by July 1st, realistically, it probably won't be ready until the 2nd week in July.
