Gotta admit, it would be very nice to have a 5br/diner-lounge at my disposal - call it RailBnB :-D Wouldn’t even need to be a full diner, as I would recommend taking advantage of as much local food as possible. EDIT: Mr. Roberts, why do you say that? Seems like food delivery takes care of much of t...

My 2c is if money is not an object, and although Amtrak's handling of PV's has become, um, problematic, would be to charter cars, so that you have a permanent home during the trip: What kinds of cars would you charter for maximum passenger comfort? What kind of a dining hall/regional catering for d...

It would be a general group of well off tourists, who have a month off and want to see as much of the US as possible, not as interested in seeing where their countrymen ended up, more folks anxious to try new things that they can't try at home.

You have four weeks, and a group of wealthy, international tourists, anxious to see all the US to offer from coast to coast, north to south, and whom hate flying and switching hotels. They want to step off their plane, set themselves up in a nice room/roomette where they will stay for four weeks dis...

A giant category 4 hurricane is headed for Long Island in five days. The governor has called for the evacuation of both Nassau and Suffolk counties. How would the LIRR assist in the evacuation? What part of the island would you evacuate first? What kind of equipment would you use?

Mets Willets Point during a Mets Game for Other Events?

The Mets are playing tomorrow afternoon, there is also an event at the Queens Museum I want to go to. If I get off at the Mets Willets Point stop will I be able to walk down the walkway in the opposite direction (towards where I would go if I were there for the US Open) and get into Flushing Meadows...

Passenger Boarding at Hudson Yards during Javits Events?

Would it be possible to load passengers at the Hudson Yard if a temporary platform is put up? If there is a huge event at Javits that has pedestrians clogging 34th street, could the LIRR (and or NJ Transit) terminate some passenger trains Hudson Yards to accommodate these passengers? Could the LIRR ...

I commute and work for a company trying to advertise various products to the 18-34 demographic. What would the logistics of bringing on a "promotional train," on a Friday Night/Saturday Morning or Saturday night/Sunday Morning to run on track 18 or 19 parallel to a train going to Port Wash...

I said this maybe on the Amtrak forum some time ago but it bears repeating here. You go to a railroad station generally to go somewhere by train and not to admire the station. If you look at some of the unused space in the remaining old stations in the east and elsewhere too, you have to come to re...

Count me in for a 2:19 and 4:19 train, that way nights out in the city would be much easier.
