Just an update on our progress on the restoration of
ex-Rochester Gas & Electric #1941. For just over a month, we have been working inside the cab repainting it as all of the exterior paint work is done. Here the cab is seen nearly complete with the walls, ceiling and floors complete sans a little touch-up and the reinstall of the cab door hardware.
Completing the inside of the cab has also allowed us to install our new fabricated and recently glazed slider windows in each side of the cab.
The completes the installation of all new glass in the cab; work that was sponsored via a grant from the
Amherst Railway Society. Our continued thanks for their support.
More details on the recent progress on the #1941 can be see in our recent post to our museum blog:

We also have posted an album of images over the cosmetic restoration of the locomotive to the R&GVRRM's Flickr site:

Thanks for the continued interest and thanks Kevin for the compliments and your contribution to this project! This locomotive has very much been a team effort with many hands contributing over the years to both the cosmetic and mechanical restoration.
