Hi, Does anyone have information on when the Last Erie Lackawanna Employee magazine was published? I've seen some from the early 1960's but not any later editions . Thanks

A lot of the mags are archived in PDF format at http://el.railfan.net/eriemag/

Off the top of my head I'd say EL magazine didn't last long after the emerger, maybe 1963, and DL&W's magazine was only begun in the mid 50s. Erie's publication, however, was said to be the longest running employee magazine in the RR business.

Reading these magazines can be very enlightening; you can watch two vibrant, proud, and solid railroads slide into the exact opposite shortly after merging.

I checked the July/August 1963 issue and on page 13 it has an announcement of that issue being the last due to financial conditions. ( I guess the handwriting was on the wall early for the EL)It was the first and longest running railroad magazine for employees. The Erie started it in 1905.
great link for the PDF format of the issues. Thanks Sween
