In addition to the 10 AC44i locos that GE is building for Brazilian railroad ALL, GE announced today that they are going to build 50 AC44i locos for Cosan Combustiveis e Lubrificantes, part of the sugar and ethanol group Cosan Ltd.
The deal is worth $130 million (which puts the per-unit price at $2.6 million, if my math is correct).
As with the ALL order, the locomotives will be assembled in Brazil, but the FDL engines will come from Grove City, PA.
