If the L&HR had Mikados, though they were light, in nineteen teens, why did they go back to Consolidations in the twenties instead of to heavier Mikados from Baldwin??

Just browsing, and found your question.
The newer 2-8-0s were heavier and had more tractive effort.
I cannot remember the source of this info, but it may have been
one of the two L&HR books by Crouse. They were pretty much
the same as the RDGs.
