What has become of the ferry slips at HT? As I recall NJT was going to restore service to them.

I remember the long hallway leading up to them. It looked like NJT had offices above the ferry slips, but the ferry slips themselves and the hallway to get there was in a complete state of destruction. Everything was falling apart.

I was last there about a year ago, and the cleanup was well along. I haven't seen what the final version is supposed to look like, as unfortunately there won't be any ferries of the size those slips used to accommodate. One note of constancy is that the water sloshing around in the slips smells exactly like I remember it from the 1950s.

Over from the NJT forum, the thread includes a link to a recent newspaper story on the restoration.
